On Friday 21st November Custom Solar are encouraging all schools across Lincolnshire to switch off any non-essential electrical items. We are proud to work alongside Lincolnshire County Council installing solar on many schools in the region and are wholeheartedly in support of the Switch Off.
We hope this day enables schools to identify unnecessary and wasteful energy consumption, armed with this information they can reduce not only their carbon footprint but also the school’s bills. Ideally the pupils will feel educated and empowered to implement the energy saving ideas at home!

Lincolnshire Schools Switch Off Challenge
The Lincolnshire Schools Switch Off Challenge is taking place on Friday 21st November and we want your school to be involved!
This Challenge is a fun and easy way to get the whole school involved in reducing your carbon footprint. We want your school to switch off all non-essential electrical items for the day and record your energy use. The SCoRE team will work out how much each school, and the county as a whole, has saved.
Why take part?
The Switch Off Challenge is a great way to get pupils thinking about how they use energy and the changes they can make to reduce their energy consumption both at school and at home. This has clear benefits for your school; utility bills form a significant part of a school’s controllable budget and by encouraging everyone to use electricity more wisely, you could help to reduce your school’s energy bills and CO2 emissions. Schools that have previously held Switch Off Days have reduced their consumption by up to 58% compared to a normal day. The Challenge coincides with Eco-schools’ Energy Month and Switch Off Fortnight and will also count towards any Eco-Schools work that you do.
Take part for a chance to win!
The school that reduces their energy consumption by the largest percentage will win a bespoke session with Inspiring Outdoors, an education consultant specialising in outdoor education and sustainability. Prizes are also available for the second and third place schools.
