Overview of the challenge
As a leader in manufacturing and processing water-soluble polymers (based on polyacrylamide), SNF has developed a range of more than 1,080 products that help preserve our natural resources, encourage recycling, and improve efficiencies of industrial processes.
The SNF Group, the parent company to all SNF entities, have implemented numerous sustainable developments, particularly regarding environmental, social, and economic issues. Choosing Custom Solar to install PV on the roof of their Wakefield site was another step in their decarbonisation plans.
Our approach
The project at SNF Water Science, Wakefield, had some operational challenges. The switch room was very tight, especially around the PVDB and so our onsite teams had to move the building earth bond to be able to install.
Wiring was difficult due to the limited space, but our installation team worked together closely to find a way to make it accessible and managed to complete the 64kWp installation successfully.
The PV system will generate 55,680kWh of green energy for the site to now use.
The result
- 55,680 kWh electricity generated
- 11.5 tCO2 Emissions reduction
- 128 Solar Panels
