Project Overview

Previously known as I M Kelly Ltd, the IMK Group has evolved dramatically from the business first established in Burton Latimer in 1975. No longer just specialising in leather, the Business now supplies premium quality trimmed parts in manmade, natural and sustainable materials to the; Automotive, Aerospace, Rail & Leisure markets.

With the support of its parent, ECA Group, IMK has been able to make this significant investment into renewable clean energy and significantly reduce its Carbon Footprint.

The Kettering Head office now boasts a state-of-the-art 716.4kWp Solar PV installation, meticulously crafted by Custom Solar. This cutting-edge system will generate an impressive annual output of 667,295kWh while bringing annual carbon emissions down by a remarkable 313.55 tonnes. To accomplish this project, a total of 1,592 Solar panels, each with a capacity of 450Wp, were skillfully integrated. This transformational system is set to curtail IMK’s energy expenses by a substantial 36%.

In addition to supporting IMK’s Kettering manufacturing, the scale of the project will mean that significant surplus green energy will be fed back to the grid for the wider community. IMK are now exploring further solar installations across its other UK sites.
